Plant-A-Tree
Buying our tees helps plant trees
In order to stay aligned with one part our mission - to protect and conserve the amazingly beautiful Planet Earth that is our home, we have partnered up with Carbon Neutral. We are so excited to work with Australia's major biodiverse reforestation developer who are an environmentally aware organisation. Everything they do works towards minimising the impacts individuals and groups have on the environment.
What do Carbon Neutral do?
How are we involved with Carbon Neutral?
Plant-A-Tree Program
For every item purchased from Troopy Travellers a native tree will be planted in Australia. As well as enhancing biodiversity and sequestering greenhouse gas emissions, the trees that you help plant bring many valuable benefits to the environment including:
- Sequestering carbon
- reducing soil salinity
- saving and restoring water quality
- helping combat wind and water erosion
- restoring habitat for native animals
Planting trees also provides local employment, supports local business and may contribute to annual rainfall.
Where are the trees planted?
The Yarra Yarra Biodiversity Corridor in South West Australia is globally recognised by Conservation International (a world authority on biodiversity conservation) as one of only 35 globally significant Hotspots. These areas have an exceptionally high number of plant and animal species found nowhere else in the world and having the hotspot label recognises that these plants, animals and ecosystems are at extreme risk of destruction.
Biodiversity is important as it helps native plants and animals thrive through well connected high quality habitat that meets all their needs like food, shelter and reproduction. Planting a diverse mix of species makes the habitat more resilient and increases ecological function. By Carbon Neutral reconnecting the drier inland habitats to the coast, the Yarra Yarra Biodiversity corridor will help protect and recover species such as the Malleefowl, Carnaby’s Black-Cockatoo, Crested Bellbird, Western Yellow Robin and Western Spiny-tailed Skink.
